Triggerfinger on board for soundtrack Offline

TRIGGERFINGER is one of the best things Belgium's rock history has to offer. Ruben Block, Mario Goossens and Monsieur Paul are top rock musicians. Great music and rhythms reinforced and tempered by vocals and guitars.

After meeting the director and reading the script the band reacted "very enthusiastic and motivated to get started", said Eric Didden, manager of Triggerfinger.
‘In regard to the music I wanted to use the taste of the protagonist as a point of departure. Rudy grew up with hard rock and now finds comfort in the melancholy of blues rock. Elements of this genre can subtly underline the existential loneliness of the protagonist. I wanted TRIGGERFINGER to compose the soundtrack, because in their music they combine the extremes which Rudy carries within himself : anger and agitation coupled with apathy and melancholia.”, says director Peter Monsaert about his choice of music.

OFFLINE tells the story of forty-seven year old Rudy Vandekerckhove, an unemployed washing machine repairman who vainly tries to pick up his life after a period of misfortune. But his attempts to reconnect with what he let go in the past are not exactly welcomed with open arms.
The demons from his past once again appear to get the upper hand, until an anonymous meeting on the internet gives his life an unexpected turn.

Offline promises to be a touching, sensitive, but also a warm, playful and hopeful film, which takes place in an intercultural arena with a universal theme.

The main characters will be portrayed by Wim Willaert (‘The 22nd of May’, ‘Ex-Drummer’) and Anemone Valcke (‘Moscow, Belgium’, ‘Oxygen).
OFFLINE starts shooting at the end of September 2011.

OFFLINE is a Lunanime-Annemie Degryse (the production company within the Lumière Group) and Victoria Deluxe production, with support of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF).
Lumière will release the film theatrically in September 2012.
